Carriers fight dirty.

Verizon. AT&T. T-Mobile. They are all screaming for your wallet, trying to pull you away from the competitor. The current weapon of choice? The latest iPhones.

T-Mobile just dropped a wave of deals that are hard to ignore. If you are looking to switch, pay attention.

The Math Checks Out

Here is what you get.

  • iPhone 17e — free. You switch, keep your number. Most plans qualify.
  • iPhone 17 — free. Switch and trade in something eligible. You need an Experience More or Experience Beyond line.
  • iPhone 17 Pro — free. Trade in any phone, any condition. But you need that Experience Beyond plan.

Is it truly free?

Not exactly. T-Mobile gives you monthly credits. Over 24 months, those credits cover the device cost. It’s a refund, not a gift. You still pay taxes. There is a $35 connection fee. It is what it is.

The Gear

The phone itself isn’t bad.

Stan Schroeder, over at Mashable, reviewed the base model iPhone 17. He called it excellent. Notably, he said it matches the Pro models in ways that actually matter. For the cheaper 17e? He said it is a decent step up. A solid pick if you want the new hardware without the Pro tax.

Sounds good. Maybe.

Why switch today? Why not. The phones are here. The credits are stacking. You decide if the hassle is worth the hardware.
