Find Your Grind, a career exploration platform founded by former Goldfinger drummer Nick Gross, has raised $5 million in Series A funding led by Echo Investment Capital. The investment will fuel the company’s expansion of “career readiness” programs across the United States, bringing the total funding to $8 million.

The Problem with Traditional Career Guidance

The platform addresses a critical gap in modern education: the disconnect between traditional career counseling and the rapidly changing job market. Conventional guidance often prioritizes salary and prestige, leaving students unprepared for the realities of a future where 92 million jobs are predicted to disappear by 2030, according to the World Economic Forum.

Gross founded Find Your Grind after observing firsthand how students struggle with career choices due to limited exposure to non-traditional professions. He noticed that students often lack awareness of careers outside the conventional paths of doctors, lawyers, and engineers, which are no longer the sole aspirations for many young people.

How Find Your Grind Works

The platform focuses on four key competencies: self-awareness, career awareness, social awareness, and action awareness. Its core feature is a Lifestyle Assessment that identifies three potential career paths based on a student’s preferences. These paths include options like entertainer, creator, or humanitarian.

Once a lifestyle path is identified, the platform generates a tailored next-step plan for post-graduation. Students also have access to:

  • Videos and interactive lessons
  • Mentorship from high-profile figures such as Tony Hawk, Tony Hoffman, and will.i.am.
  • An AI-powered “Reflective Coach” that provides personalized feedback.

Workforce Development Initiatives

Beyond the digital platform, Find Your Grind runs workforce development programs, including lifestyle fairs. These initiatives connect students with real-world job opportunities in their local communities. The company’s first program is launching in Oklahoma City, in collaboration with local schools and training centers. The goal is to help students discover jobs aligned with their lifestyle preferences.

Scale and Impact

Find Your Grind has already assisted 100,000 students. Gross aims to onboard “over a million students” to help them become “more future-ready.” The platform’s success reflects a growing demand for career exploration tools that align with the evolving needs of Gen Z.

Ultimately, Find Your Grind represents a shift in how young people approach their careers—prioritizing self-discovery, lifestyle fit, and adaptability over outdated notions of job security.
