HUMAIN, Saudi Arabia’s state-backed AI company, has deployed 1,024 Qualcomm AI 100 accelerators in a new data center designed for large-scale AI inferencing and hybrid edge-to-cloud operations. The move marks a significant expansion of AI infrastructure within the Kingdom and signals Saudi Arabia’s growing commitment to becoming a global AI hub.

New Infrastructure: Edge-to-Cloud Hybrid AI

The facility, funded by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, is designed to address the limitations of traditional cloud-only and edge-only AI deployments. Cloud-only systems can suffer from latency, hindering real-time applications, while edge-only solutions often lack the processing power for complex AI tasks. Qualcomm’s hybrid architecture aims to optimize performance, efficiency, and response times by combining the strengths of both approaches.

The data center targets 200 megawatts of capacity by 2026 and will be one of the largest Qualcomm implementations worldwide. Adobe will be the first major customer, utilizing the facility for its AI-powered services.

Key Features and Technology

The new infrastructure relies on Qualcomm Cloud AI 100 racks, offering high-performance AI inference with superior memory capacity. The AI 100 Ultra chip incorporates 576 MB of on-die SRAM and 64 AI cores per card, optimized for generative AI and large language models.

HUMAIN will integrate the Qualcomm platforms with its own Saudi-developed AI models, including the ALLaM multimodal large language model, to provide tailored solutions for enterprises and government organizations.

Future phases of the data center may incorporate Qualcomm’s upcoming AI200 (expected in 2026) and AI250 (expected in 2027) accelerators, which promise further advancements in memory bandwidth and efficiency.

Strategic Context: Saudi Arabia’s AI Push

This deployment aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy to establish itself as a leader in AI development. The partnership with Qualcomm follows an agreement from the US-Saudi Investment Forum in May 2025 to develop next-generation AI infrastructure.

The initiative builds on HUMAIN’s earlier release of the Horizon Pro AI laptop, which integrates the ALLaM language model with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Elite chipsets. The laptop is given to every new HUMAIN employee, highlighting the company’s commitment to AI-driven productivity.

The combination of edge and cloud infrastructure will unlock new AI applications for businesses and governments, providing scalable and cost-effective solutions for real-time AI workloads.

The rapid expansion of AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia indicates a deliberate effort to diversify its economy and position itself at the forefront of the global AI revolution.
