HP has significantly overhauled its OmniBook laptop series at CES 2026, moving beyond mere rebranding to deliver genuinely updated designs alongside performance enhancements. The new lineup, including the flagship OmniBook Ultra 14, features a sleek, forged aluminum chassis, cutting-edge AI capabilities, and optional OLED displays across several models. The company also unveiled an updated OmniStudio all-in-one with a brighter Neo:LED display and improved file-sharing features.
OmniBook Redesign: A Departure from the Past
The OmniBook Ultra 14 marks a clear break from its predecessor, the Spectre. Boasting an exceptionally slim profile—between 0.29 and 0.55 inches thick—the laptop doesn’t sacrifice durability, having passed 20 MIL-STD tests. HP claims it’s the “world’s slimmest consumer notebook with the fastest AI performance.”
The new models will offer both Intel Core Ultra Series 3 and Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 processors. The Snapdragon X2 Elite variant packs an 85 TOPS NPU, nearly doubling the AI processing power of Qualcomm’s previous generation, allowing for faster local AI workloads. High-end configurations will include up to 64GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD, complemented by a vibrant 3K OLED display. The OmniBook Ultra 14 will ship later this month starting at $1,550.
Lower-tier OmniBook models – the X, 7, 5, and 3 – will also receive design updates, with the OmniBook 3 starting at just $500. All models in the series will offer Snapdragon X2 chips and the option for a 2K OLED display, marking a notable shift toward premium features even at the entry level.
OmniStudio X 27: Brighter Screen, Easier Sharing
HP has also refined its all-in-one desktop, the OmniStudio X 27. It’s now available in 24- and 27-inch sizes, with the latter featuring a new Neo:LED display. This technology combines an IPS panel with a mini-LED backlight to deliver improved brightness (450 nits), deeper blacks, and reduced blooming compared to traditional LED displays. The 27-inch model offers a 2,560×1,440-pixel resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and full Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 color coverage.
The OmniStudio X 27 also introduces Thunderbolt Share, enabling seamless file transfer between the all-in-one and a laptop with a single Thunderbolt cable. A tilting Surface View webcam allows users to easily share physical documents or materials during presentations. The OmniStudio X 27 starts at $1,500, with pre-orders opening later this week.
The updated OmniBook series and OmniStudio X 27 demonstrate HP’s commitment to innovation at CES 2026. These new products not only enhance performance but also address consumer demands for sleek design, powerful AI capabilities, and user-friendly features. The broad availability of OLED displays, even in entry-level models, suggests HP is aiming to make premium experiences more accessible.
